473 mL can from the LCBO; best before Jun 21 2021 and served barely chilled.

Pours a crystal-clear straw yellow colour, generating nearly an inch of soapy, foamy white head that settles off within three minutes or so. A frothy collar lingers on, encircling a filmy cap of suds; minimal lacing, but it looks good otherwise. Cereal grains and doughy sweetness on the nose, with just a hint of grassiness.

The flavours follow after the nose - doughy, bready malts and graininess start things off, with touches of honeyed sweetness followed up by a mildly grassy hop bitterness nearer the finish. Grainy aftertaste that doesn't persist for long; a little sweeter than I prefer from a pale lager. Light in body, with lively carbonation that prickles and prods the palate assertively with each sip, contributing to its crisp mouthfeel. Moderately refreshing, with solid drinkability.

Final Grade: 3.49, a B-. Home Ice Advantage isn't one of the better lagers I've reviewed in recent months, but at least Old Tomorrow's craft lager is contributing to a worthy cause - which I suppose puts it half a step ahead of the other countless, mediocre 'craft lagers' you can find around here these days. I'd encourage you to give this a try if you have any interest in standard issue, no frill lagers, but don't expect anything earth-shattering.

$0.25 from the sale of every can goes towards Hockey Helps The Homeless.
Pours apple juice colour with little to no head. Corn and grains on the smell. The taste is plain, it not great, not bad. Mediocre. Mouthfeel is watery and flat. Marks given for the good cause
