Multiverse from Kent Falls Brewing. Received from @Roy_Hobbs in BIF #14. 16.9 oz bottle. Stored at home at 38 degrees. Reviewed 27/10/21. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Marked on label “Blend 1 Bottled February 2019”. Served at 57.3 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 60.2 degrees.
Appearance – 4.25.
First pour – Amber brown (SRM 18), nearly opaque.
Body – Deep Brown (SRM 30), opaque. When rear-lite, same, although some light does penetrate the edge and appears red.
Head – Small (Maximum two cm, aggressive center pour), desert sand, high density, fizzy, quickly diminishing to a two to three mm bubble ring fed by effervescence and a thin scum-like cap.
Lacing – None.
Aroma – 4.25 – Initially bourbon, roasted malt, and a hint of chocolate, no hops, no yeast.
Flavor – 4.25 – Begins with the taste of chocolate and weak malt, a little dark fruit, no hops, no yeast. Barely discernable bourbon. No ethanol (9.7 % ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma. Moderate esophageal and gastric warming. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 4 – Medium, short of creamy, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 4.25 Very pleasant BBA stout, which has managed to keep a crown throughout the drink while the cap has actually improved with time. The bourbon gives a nice compliment to the malty chocolate and produces a comforting afterglow. Thanks for sharing this with me Ross!

Interesting. Definitely smell some coffee - which is nice. Taste also, which is so so. Overall a bit "light" feeling for a RIS, but certainly good.

Tall can (telling me 8% btw) with the bottom telling me it was canned on 11/9/2020.
The pour here is darkest of brown hues with some delicate, super fine and scattered lacing left on the glass.
Milk chocolate sniff, soft and inviting.
Delicious offering, soft, over the top smooth, velvet in a glass and loaded with milk chocolate, carob and milky cafe au lait notes. Mighty fine...worth seeking out

Undated can into pint glass. Pours a dark-but-not-quite-black brown with a nice tan head. Initial impression is coffee, milk chocolate, cocoa, roasted malts, and maybe a touch of dark fruit. Mouthfeel is fairly thick, but not as smooth as some Imperial Stouts. Carbonation is a little heavier than necessary. Finish starts sweet and ends up slightly astringent. A good but not exceptional stout.

Can dated 12/17:
Pours rather thick looking, but not quite like used motor oil. The deep tan to brown head seems to struggle against the pour, but grows to maybe a finger once allowed to grow at will. The head fades to a razor thin collar without leaving anything on the inner glass as I let it warm. A tip of the glass shows the previous level of beer for a few seconds only.
Aroma mainly comes as charred wood and husky dark malt, and these are not itching to leave the glass. There's also a light mineral note. With this nose, I am expecting a fair classic malt-driven bitter dry stout.
Well, the taste comes without too much surprise. There's a little more sweetness than I expected, but overall the beer leans mildly dry. There are shavings of dark chocolate on the tip of my tongue before the dark roasted malt flavors wash up against the shore. The chocolate regains itself a tad when that mineral note comes along. This ends up giving the beer a push towards the impression of a pot of diner coffee that has sat on the warmer a bit longer than it should have.
The feel has a certain slickness to it, and the body has a medium to medium heavy heft to it. Carbonation cuts through this nicely without disrupting it.
I wish the scent were a little stronger and the mineral note I caught was a mildly distracting. Otherwise, I found this a to be a bit above average straightforward stout.

Pours a clean, inky, deep black with a good bit of light mocha head and consistent, cola-like effervescence; minimal lacing and a thin mocha collar remain after the head subsides, along with the near-constant effervescence.
Aroma brings plenty of roasty malts saturated in dark and milk chocolate, with faint bits of raspberry, plum, and dark fruits as influencing notes along the way.
Taste is balanced upfront with chocolatey malts, heavily ground coffee, and smoked caramel; subtle dark and milk chocolate cover together in excellent harmony and fade into roasty malt and light cherry notes in the finish; impressively toes the line between roasty and sweet.
Mouthfeel is definitely on the heavier side, nearly chewy; tightly compact but robust, it glides sleekly along the palate with a beautifully balanced weight; semi-sticky and coating the tongue a bit while never losing its creamy, silky consistency.
A great exercise in balance for a stout around the 8% mark, with some excellent restraint in carefully balancing the predominant chocolate notes with light bits of fruit and roasty malt to an almost seamless flow. Silky smooth, consistent, and enjoyable on all fronts.

A: Deep bottomless abyss black in color, with a khaki colored creamy and Soapy looking head that settles to a film.

L: Poured from a bottle to a snifter glass. Had a dark brown / black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, tan-colored, fairly long-lasting head. Decent lacing.
S: A nice aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, and dark fruits.
T: Tasted of a good shot of roasted malt (present throughout), lots of dark chocolate, a little char, some light hops in the finish, some dark fruit (plums, perhaps), and a bit of coffee. An interesting flavor that is not quite what I expected. The chocolate and dark fruits work surprisingly well together. Pretty tasty.
F: A good amount of carbonation with a somewhat dry finish. Medium-bodied.
O: This is a well made, interesting stout. Well worth a look.

16.9oz bottle. Batch 1, Bottled January 2018. Pours a pitch black color with an inch of dark brown head. Lots of lacing. The aroma is roasty and chocolatey. Earth, espresso and some dark fruits. The taste is dark chocolate, roasted malts and espresso. Maybe a slight nutty flavor as well. Charred wood, espresso and bitter dark chocolate at the end. Smokey, roasty finish. Medium body with a fair amount of alcohol heat and low carbonation. Velvety mouthfeel. A bit pricey but still worth buying once in a while.
