big thanks to 2beerdogs for this excellent coconut stout!
Ooooohhhh it pours a thicker than expected black with half finger of finely beaded tan foam. Beautiful look. A swirl leaves oily bubbles of lace.
Wow some really delicious flavors in the aroma, almost like mounds bar meets light roast coffee. Very delicate herbal notes assemble in the backdrop.
Isn't it great when a plan comes together? Full flavored and all that the aroma promised the taste now delivers in spades. At the beginning of the sip you can taste the spicy grain rye with malt grainy sweet but it is quickly joined and overtaken by a wave of dark chocolate and coconut and with a surprise kick of hoppy bitter. Coffee is less a part of the taste than of the aroma, but still a nice flavor to accompany the chocolate goodness . Really dynamic flavor presentation here that is very delicious.
At the upper end of body and lower end of carb. for style and it works very very well. Finish is dynamite, a blast of clean bitter linger that keeps the interest going for next sip.
Great coconut in this really digging it, suits the deeper notes so well and brings out the chocolate notes in a fantastic way. Highly Recommended.

12 oz can from Tavour. Black, oily pour, no head to speak of. Aroma and taste are big, full coconut notes, some chocolate. Right amount of sweetness and velvety smooth. I enjoyed the hell out of this.

12 oz. can:
Pours black. A thin head becomes a lasting wisp. Little lacing.
Robust aroma - coconut, chocolate, minty rye.
It is liquid candy - chocolate covered coconut. Rye adds mint character.
It is sweet, but not overly so. Very smooth.
Very well-made. An enjoyable stout with coconut and rye. Unique.

Tasting this took me back to my mom's sweet and sticky coconut almond macaroons. The excellent balance of almond coconut, and coco nibs flavor is exquisite and I recommend this beer to anyone that can came by it. The nitro came off as less flavorful but creamier.
