For a second I thought this should a Sahti since the coloring is about the same and those beers use juniper and also I have never had a black saison, but in the end listed it as a saison since that's what it is listed at brewery.
Black body with minimal head and lace and has aroma that is spicy, which I assume is some of the juniper (not really floral) and a little sour citric as well.
Dry body, smooth, medium bodied beer, yeast a little noticeable, more of a sour, citric (or maybe acidic is better term) berry profile with spice notes and finishes crisp thanks to a little hop bitterness and a touch of roasted malts.
Not your typical saison and it doesn't equate to drain pour but this wasn't one that I fondly remember.
