Taster flight at brewery. Dark, clear golden pour, skin of head. Malty aroma with some gingery notes. Taste is toasty malts, and more light spicy notes

Pleasure House Brewing "Cameron's British Pub Ale"
on tap at the brewery on 19 June 2017
$5.50 / Pint
Notes via stream of consciousness: A British-style premium bitter in beach-town Virginia? Yes! Let's see how it goes... slightly hazy amber body beneath a creamy white head that holds fairly well and leaves spotty and streaky lacing behind. So far, so good. Aroma of apple & pear and leafy and floral hops over a gently caramelish malt base. The flavor follows with more malt character so that it's rounded, and a balanced bitterness. Strength is listed at 6.2% with 31 IBUs which is kind of see-saw for the style ~ low IBUs given the highest acceptable strength for the style, yet it works. It's 'dryish' in the finish but not sweet with some lingering leafy hop notes. A decent pint.
