a funky foedre beer here, real neat stuff, pale golden and fizzy from the tap with decent clarity, looks light and delicate, stoked to have this right here in the taproom! the nose is wonderful, herbal and springy with a floral hop element to it and a nice mix of light oaken funk and citrusy lactic bacterial pucker. neither is running away with this, and overall the fermentation profile is pretty mellow, its just interesting, subtle in a good way. the wood part is sturdy in the flavor though, and it brings a white wine character to the beer with the tannins in here. light vanilla and honey as well. the cereal grain base is dry, wheaty and some pils malt too likely, very light bodied and clean. nice rustic funkiness late, very well refined beer on the whole, quite drinkable too with the effervescence and the moderate acidity. this is cool beer, minimal in an endearing way, and something that seems like it would be a heck of a base for experimentation with things like wine grapes and barrels, stone fruit, even apples in this part of the world, but its lovely on its own as well, and it was fun to drink at the source! i have a lot of love for these guys, have loved just about all their beers i have tried, and think some real props are due here!

Bottle share.
We both poured into tulips.
The appearance was a semi-cloudy golden orange color with a half finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Not much lace, just seemed to speckle for a little bit and then totally slide off into the beer.
The aroma had a nice sweet floral to herbal flow riding into some honey and candied fruit with some tartness, a light funk and then orange peel.
The flavor was moderately sweet pulling in the funk and the tart blending on into the mix of it all. Nice mobile aftertaste of the honey and the funk, boy was that a really nice aftertaste - wow!
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good, somewhat low. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, really nice saison that I would have again, however, I wouldn't mind some more spices possibly added. Still, really nice beer.

This one pours a slightly hazy golden orange, with a big pillowy head, and a good bit of lacing.
Smells very sweetly citrusy- this definitely smells sweeter than I'd expect for this style. Nonetheless, it's a nice aroma, slightly tart, and a little bit funky.
The taste follows suit, it's a bit sweet for the style, but it's tasty, as I get honey, candied stone fruit, funky grassiness, and sweet tarts.
The carbonation level is a bit high, and kinda prickly, with a creamy mouthfeel.
This is a nice saison- with a few tweaks, it would be truly great.

750ml Bottle shared from friend.
L: Bright gold with beautiful white head. Not much legs as it sits but it is a tart beer.
S: Citrus, herbal, funk. Sweeter than imagined.
T: Still sweet. Don't think this beer finishes high but the sweetness has to be high alcohols or residual sugars. Cant pinpoint. Weakest part of the beer but not picking up specifically why. Herbal, floral, citrus notes are still pleasantly present.
F: Full and sweet. Either too sweet or not high enough carbonation to balance the two.
O: Fantastic beer to be surprised with for a brewerly unknown to me.
