Enjoyed a snifter for dessert while dining with Da Boss at the Scottsdale brewpub on 1-11-20 for $7.00.
Beer was served black with an okay tan head that dissipated pretty quickly.
Nose had some dark chocolate and mildly roasted malts.
Taste got better as we went along. Dark chocolate stands out blending nicely with the mild roasted malt base. Finished nicely balanced with a decent hop addition. Paired well with the Butterfinger cookie dessert.
Mouthfeel was medium bodied and kind of smooth.
Overall a nicely flavored dessert beer with supporting attributes that did not match the flavor. Worthy of a try still.

Appearance: dark brown in color with a wispy head that broke down quickly.
Smell: roasted malts and chocolate are easily picked up by the nose.
Taste: roasted malts, dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, warming alcohol, and a decent bitterness.
Mouthfeel: medium-heavy in body. Light crispness to start, smooth and a touch dry at the finish.
Overall: a pretty good imperial stout that satisfied the thirst. Slow sipping and enjoyable.

I tried this at the brewery. It poured an opaque dark with no head and no lace. The scent had hints of chocolate and roast. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink for an imperial stout. Chocolate notes supported by roast espresso made it interesting. The mouthfeel was fuller in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it was a good stout.
