Note: Pale Saison brewed in November 2019 and aged for over two years in a single oak barrel with all our favorite mixed cultures. (From Orono website). I just made 3 in a row tasting wonderful Belgian style beers from US breweries. First there was Spencer Pale Ale - Belgian, next Founder's Belgian Twist Tripel and last night Orono Hit Single Vol.2 Saison. This last beer was poured from a 500 ml bottle that had turquoise wax melted all across the top of the bottle. Orono is nice enough to put a tab on the wax to make it easier to remove. The beer was a clear gold on first pour followed by hazy more straw colored yellow on subsequent pours. The medium sized bubbly white head was about average in retention. There were small flecks of lacing on the glass. Great aroma and taste of yeast, Brett, and light fruit (apples and pears). A great sour beer, with the level of sourness just right. It might have featured some dankness, horse blanket/farmyard flavors but there was plenty of aroma and taste to enjoy. Mouthfeel was tart with a nice level of carbonation. In all, a very good Saison
