This is at best a belgian dubbel. Maybe more of a weak saison blended with a belgian dubbel. This is literally WLP670 in a can, low mash temps and less than 2 months of fermentation, probably between 68 and 74 degrees. Pretty bland overall

16oz can into tulip.

A: Pours a fairly clear dull yellow with an underwhelming half inch of fuzzy white head that quickly fizzed away into a thin collar.
S: Fruity and creamy yeast dominates the nose over notes of wheat and straw-like grain scents. I get a touch of earthy and peppery spice as well. Smells crisp, bright, sweet, and clean.
T: Follows the nose with sweet fruity yeast notes of plantain, golden apple, and sweet stone/tropical fruit meat followed by flavors of straw, dry wheat, and herbal hops. The finish is full of peppery, slightly earthy, spice, and the aftertaste has lingering notes of crisp grain and a slightly medicinal, yet pleasant, bitterness.
M: Medium-light body, soft mouthfeel with a drying finish, splash carbonation with a crisp edge to it.
O: Great yeast character; flavorful and drinkable, with a touch of house character.

L: Hazy golden yellow. Pure white head that dissipates rather quickly leaving little to no lace and little to none in the body.

S: Hay, melon, hop and citrus.

T: Tropical notes with plenty of melon and citrus. Strong hay dry notes as to be suspected with the Saison side of this one.

F: Medium body thanks to the haze side of this one. Slightly chewy and very smooth.

O: This is a remarkable beer! The blending of the two styles (NE IPA x Saison) is done seamlessly and is far better than what I expected! I could drink this everyday without complaint! Cheers to Fieldwork and their relentless hardwork! They really out did theirselves on this one!!!!
