Brewed to put the "Imperial" in Imperial Stout; this massive wave of night night juice is brewed exclusively with British malts, Scottish yeast, and a pinch of carefully selected Oregon hops.

Poured into my Tired Hands Teku.
Elegantly dark and glossy. Nearly obsidian in hue. Slight khaki colored head forms and then quickly recedes to a thin, yet solid film. Good retention and nice scattered areas of thin lacing woven together by healthy clumps.
Nose is straight up old school, no nonsense, I know my history Imperial Stout. Slightly charred caramel, dates, plum, raisin, baker's cocoa, and a mild earthy char.
Wow, flavor follows the nose. This is the real deal. Additional notes of coffee, some deep fruity notes along the lines of dark stone fruit and mulled wine. But these are just 2 of the newer members of a cast of many. This is complex and utterly enjoyable.
Mouthfeel is full enough for style, low carbonation, and finishes with a slightly bitter char note chasing the mild sweet. Slightly oily at the end.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a two finger dark khaki head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, chocolate, coffee and raisins; some pure boozy alcohol. Flavor is dark toasted malt with light char, bakers chocolate, plums, raisins and a touch of coffee; a little hop bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A big, bold and boozy imperial stout. The profile is like an imperial dry or export stout, which makes sense with the listed British malts and Scottish yeast. More dark fruit than usual in a stout almost as if there was some barleywine blended in; makes the flavor more complex. Somewhat lighter body than expected, but still full flavored. An flavorful, complex and somewhat unique big stout. Still a bit boozy and if I get another I might put a year on it before drinking, although I'm liking it well enough at this stage. Looks nice too.

rich, dry, syrupy, dusty, molasses, touch of cloves, tobacco and properly boozy. dark brown color and decent feel although a little thin, perhaps because it’s an imperial. smell is delightful, featuring brown sugar and butterscotch. excellent taste.

A damn fine imperial stout.

Classic in every respect. Subtly herbal hop bitterness serves to compliment the bitter coffee/chocolate bite from the roasted malt. Notes of dark holiday bread and raisins and a bit of prune keep the bitterness from running roughshod over the palate.

The only issue is the price. Old Rasputin is a much better deal for a product that is easily 90% or more as delicious. But God damn is this a proper stout. Full respect to fieldwork for brewing this beauty
