Picked up a crowler at the brewery. Pours a clear dark gold with very little head and no lacing. Aroma is mild with lemon zest and hefeweizen style yeast. Taste is more of the same, a somewhat malty beer with the flavor of lemon and yeast. What is missing is the "funk", the "dankness", the "horseblanket" flavors in a more complex Saison. Still tasty but doesn't satisfy the Saison expexctations. The Big Ugly Red, White, and Blueberry was a bit closer to a typical Saison. Mouthfeel was rich with a crisp lemon and yeastiness about it. In all, a decent beer but not a great Saison.
