This one pours a very hazy dark orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like grassy hops, grapefruit peel, overripe fruit, and malt.

I expected more out of this one, given the brewery. It's got an odd off-flavor that kind of reminds me of rotten fruit. There's some honey sweetness, and a honestly a flavor that really reminds me of gin- kind of herbal and boozy.

The body on this is kind of weird- weirdly big bodied but also kind of thin at the same time, on the back end. It kind of makes this feel pretty weird.

This was not all that great. It feels raw and sloppy.

Appearance: honey-lupulin color with a tint of orange. The body is totally opaque with haze. The head is minimal when poured, made up of micro-fine bubbles, which fade immediately to a lacing.

Aroma: fresh-squeezed orange juice and very faint passionfruit. The hops are very restrained, so much so that blindfolded, this wouldn’t pass for an IPA. The beer is fresh too. Underwhelming to say the least.

Flavor: as with the nose, underwhelming. The hops are present but at low levels, almost like an IPA of yesteryear. This beer has no typical juiciness and doesn’t bear much resemblance to Weldwerks’ other NE IPAs. Very clean, generic.

Mouthfeel: light-medium – appropriate for the 6.9% abv.

Overall: this beer ranks at the bottom of Weldwerks’ IPA/2x IPAs. The beer was fresh, but had little character. Bland. Underwhelming. The hops are present but only provide generic bitterness, and at low levels. I would not buy this Weldwerks iteration again.

On-draught @ Weldwerks:

Limited hop pungency. Drinks like a pale ale. Not much depth of flavour.

A pint can dated 08/29/18 poured in a Storm Peak Dogfish look alike IPA glass.

Look- Pours a medium hazy orange producing two fingers of creamy white foam. Some moderate lacing is present.

Smell- Orange zest, lemon, a touch of vanilla, floral and malt.

Taste- Lemon, fresh orange slices, floral/spice, a bit of white grape and malt in the finish.

Feel- Creamy smooth up front with a dry finish.

Overall- A lighter drinking refreshing NE style IPA. Interesting taste that's probably a result of the lemondrop hops? Quite floral and lemony! Another quality beer in the Weldwerks hazy corral.
