Picked this up with many others on a recent work trip to Fort Collins, Colo. Everything I’ve had from WeldWerks has been fantastic and I expected this one to be in that mix as well. Description was, “A hazy double IPA brewed with Mosaic, Citra, HBC 344, and 520 experimental hops. Named after the great mid-western rock band.” Obviously wouldn’t be able to pick out the HBC 344 or 520, but should be able to pick out two of my favorite hops in Citra and Mosaic.
Poured a medium yellow-to-gold hazy color with two fingers of frothy white head. Lots of fast moving bubbles coming up the sides of the glass. Excellent uneven foamy lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled Mosaic, rose blossom, floral, Citra, raspberry, passion fruit, stone fruit, hints of bubblegum and mixed berry. More of the same from the can with Mosaic still leading the way. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste followed the nose. Big notes of Mosaic up front. Also rose blossom, floral, raspberry, passion fruit, stone fruit, Citra, mixed berry, red apple and bubblegum. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average carbonation. Juicy finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Really liked this one. So damn smooth. Mosaic, too. Excellent. (Overall - 4.25)
