Collaboration with Fuerst Wiacek

Brewed in collaboration for the Craft Brewer's Conference along with our friends at Crosby Hop Farm and FUERST WIACEK in Berlin, Pfeifen Frisch (say: FI-fen FRISH) is a Hazy Double IPA with Idaho 7 Hop Hash, Callista and Cashmere hops, all from Crosby. This is the first time ever playing with some of these hops and the resulting juice - redolent of overripe papaya, Valencia orange peel, and cantaloupe with a hint of mango spice - is absolutely fantastic.

Picked this up with many others on a recent work trip to Fort Collins, Colo. Everything I’ve had from WeldWerks has been fantastic and I expected this one to be in that mix as well. This collab was described online as, “Brewed in collaboration for the Craft Brewer's Conference along with our friends at Crosby Hop Farm and FUERST WIACEK in Berlin, Pfeifen Frisch (say: FI-fen FRISH) is a Hazy Double IPA with Idaho 7 Hop Hash, Callista and Cashmere hops, all from Crosby. This is the first time ever playing with some of these hops and the resulting juice - redolent of overripe papaya, Valencia orange peel, and cantaloupe with a hint of mango spice - is absolutely fantastic.” Not a fan of Idaho 7, vaguely familiar with Cashmere and pretty sure never tried Callista.

Poured a gold-to-light amber hazy color with three fingers of frothy white head. Could see some bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. World-class spiderweb foamy lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.50)

Smelled a lot of different flavors initially. Got bubble gum, trash, spoiled fruit, melon, cantaloupe, cereal milk, raspberry sherbet and mango. Much of the same from the can. (Smell - 4.00)

Taste was a little better than the nose. Got bubble gum, raspberry sherbet, sugary cereal milk, spoiled fruit, mango, melon, cantaloupe, papaya and Idaho 7. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt finish. (Feel - 4.00)

Probably overrated this just a tad, but outstanding. (Overall - 4.00)
