On tap at the Rochard, NYC.
Pours a brilliant golden color with a touch of amber. A medium sized frothy white head displays good retention.
Sweet aroma with notes of honey and bready malt. The esters produce a lovely fruity and floral perfume with notes of peach , melon, lemon and sweet grass.
The palate is dry overall, however, there is a significant amount of candi sugar and honey sweetness balanced with lightly peppery spices. Medium bodied with a soft and smooth mouthfeel and a light crispness to the carbonation. Flavors of dry cracker malt combine with chewy bready malt. Estery notes of peach, lemon, along with flavors of grass and a gently balanced earthy hops bitterness. The finish is clean and dry.
A smooth and deftly crafted Saison that is a good representation of the style.

Had a pint at the Blind Tiger. It's a simple, lovely farmhouse ale. Ideal for washing down a sandwich at lunch. Mildly spicy, toasty, and crisp, it's an easy drinking beer with clear Belgian character. It doesn't go as deep as the great saisons, but it's a fine table beer.
