Belgian white ale. A traditional spicy, yet floral yeast character and citrus forward hops.

10oz pour into a little becher willi at Folksbier. This has yuzu zest in it -- I'm not sure if that's the same thing as the listing I'm reviewing.

Pours somewhat hazy, very pale yellow, with a big creamy head. Smell is slight funk, strong citrus zest which I will call yuzu just because that's in the name. Yeasty.

Taste is fairly light, floral and grainy, maybe a suggestion of banana and clove (but I might be convincing myself of that more than detecting that). More yuzu.

Mouthfeel is light, smooth, clean, pleasing. Overall, good beer.

I’ve drunk the original (Pierre Celis-brewed) Hoegaarden in Belgium, and all generations of Texas Celis, along with all the Belgian also-rans.

This is much subtler, gentler, and more refined, but NOT dumbed-down. Just Folksbier’s usual seshy vibe.

Lovely and small. As clean as a yeasty cloudy adjunct beer can be. ThEy nailed it, but don’t expect lots of curaçao or tang.

Maybe just slightly thin mouthfeel, which I suppose will add to mistaken impression that this is dumbed down. Again: no, it’s deliberately seshy.
