Labeled as Bavarian Pils in the USA.

The Bavarian brewers have been masters in their trade for centuries and therefore also brew excellent pils beers. Indeed it was a Bavarian master brewer that brewed the first beer according to the pilsner method in the town of Pilsen! The glimmering, light-yellow Ayinger Bairisch Pils has the fragrance of aromatic hops from the “Hallertau” region of Bavaria (only these are used in the Ayinger beer specialties!). The beer is highly fermented and therefore smooth on the initial taste sensation, but also mild and sparkling in body. Our pils is accentuated by the floweriness of the hops aroma and has a more pronounced bitterness on swallowing, which quickly fades from the taste buds.

What I’ve wanted a Pilsner to be.

Just mildly hazy golden. No head or lacing poured out of bottle into pint glass. No problem for a Pilsner.

Has body but it’s not overpowering in any area. Totally drinkable yet has enough backbone and substance that you want to slow down and savor.
Mouthfeel is perfectly balanced, mildly dry. Not sweet, but so flavorful for the style.
Superbly classic hop profile.

Like a perfectly mannered dinner guest. Never out of line, so pleasant.

I don't like how the hops bitterness sticks in my mouth too long and too strong.

From the bottle, it pours a clear light yellow golden color with a white head that lasts a nice long tiime and leaves lacing. The nose gets a grassy scent with ight malt notes, followed by the mouth getting a lightly bitter malty flavor that ends with a mild lightly bitter aftertaste.

Excellent stuff. I’ve had it twice before this tasting. This time, it’s a 1.5 year old bottle. The fact it has held up so incredibly well has compelled me to write a review. When tasted fresh, it’s beyond world class. That an accidentally aged bottle (in cold storage mind you) still is nearly as delicious blows me away. Will update and compare when I find it fresh again.

Pours out of the bottle star yellow. Smell is good. Taste is better. Smoothness throughout.
Bitterness prevails in the end. But I suppose that’s what a German Pilsner is all about.
This one’s not too harsh like some others. Delicious.

Single 330 ml bottle.
Pours a pretty clear straw golden colour with a finger of fine bubbly white head.
Aroma of bready malt, floral and spicy hops, hints of lemon.
Bready and a bit grainy malt with honey sweetness on the palate, slightly floral with a decent, though not overpowering spicy and herbal hop bitterness.
Bright, light-medium mouthfeel with a slightly dry finish - crisp and refreshing.

330 ml bottle.

Pours a clear pale golden color with two solid fingers of frothy white head. Excellent head retention. Leaves a sticky bee hive of lacing around the glass before settling into a blanket of foam.

Grainy aroma with notes of sweet bread, lemon, honey, cracker malt, pear, and spicy hops.

Taste has plenty of bread and grass, as well as citrus. There's a musty tropical fruit character, with a bit of honey, apple skin, and pepper.

Body is medium-light with good carbonation. Creamy and dry.

Overall, this is a great and unique German pilsner. Fruity and sweet but well-balanced.
