Our Black Beer’d brew is a smooth, dark and delicious Stout.
Chocolate Malt gives our stout its bright coffee notes, and oats are responsible for its velvety body and mouthfeel. Drinking Black Beer’d just might inspire you to let out your inner pirate, and we know the captain himself would certainly approve.
IBUs: 53

Surprisingly, an ok stout. About the best it’s going to get in terms of a beer you can readily find on Paradise Island.

L - dark brown with lighter brown around the edges and a medium tan head that left behind some lacing.
S - sweet, roasted malt with notes of bitter chocolate.
T - Follows the nose with notes of sweet roasted malt, oatmeal , bitter chocolate.
F - medium bodied with minimal to moderate carbonation. Smooth.
O - A pretty good breakfast stout, but there's definitely better out there. Wish it had more notes of coffee/more complexity.

This is a nice breakfast stout. Pours black with a thick tan head that lasts. Smells of roasted grain and chocolate. Taste is smoky and reasonably sweet. Feel is good and smooth. Overall a very nice stout.

Thanks, Jay!
Was lucky enough to receive this as part of a 10-beer package sent by Jay. Never heard of this brewery, but my daughter sure liked the pirate theme on the can. That might add an extra 0.25 to the final rating.
Had a gusher. After that settled, poured a pitch black motor oil color with six fingers of rocky khaki tan head. Serene setting underneath all that chaos up top. Very good foamy lacing. Excellent foamy retention. (Sight - 3.75)
Initially smelled a mix of sweet chocolate and roasty coffee malts. Worked well for the most part. Also got lightly char wood, chocolate milk, cocoa powder and toffee. Seemed to me more milk stout in the nose than regular stout. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste didn’t completely follow the nose. Got roasty malts, bitter dark chocolate, coffee notes, sweet toffee, cocoa, unknown spices (rye?) and dark milk chocolate. Seems more like a Russian Imperial Stout here. ABV seems higher than 6.9 pct. (Taste - 4.00)
Full body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long bitter finish. (Feel - 4.00)
This was a pretty good stout overall, seeming more like a Russian Imperial Stout or an Imperial Milk Stout. Would have again for sure. (Overall - 4.00)

I tried this at the brewery in Nassau. It poured a murky dark chocolate with ecru head and spotty lace. The scent had hints of chocolate and roast. The taste carried chocolate and touch of anise. The mouthfeel was Fuller in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it's a decent stout.
