A wave, a stretch, a tip of the cap, our Pastime Pils is the perfect accompaniment to all of summer's pastimes.

This pilsner is brewed in the German-style that boasts a white head and medium body, with biscuit malt flavours and floral aromatics.

It exemplifies the beauty of complexity, unobtrusive and yet sublime, perfect for that socializing occasion or really no occasion at all!

Stored in lagering tanks for weeks to perfect the smooth yet firm bitterness of this crisp lager. Pilsner Malt is the backbone which provides classic hint of biscuity malt notes, the undertone of a cold fermenting lager yeast is paramount. IBU:28

Got this one at the Hamilton airport

Appearance: A thumb's worth of lace that somehow managed to leave a few dots of lace before immediately vanishing. The body is a clear gold with low carbonation. I've never seen a beer leave lace but had the head disappear that fast.

Smell: Very clean, as herbal hops and doughy malt are the notes I'm getting off of this one. Warming doesn't really bring it out any more, and it could be more potent, but my impression here is the intent is for a clean experience.

Taste: Less dough and more biscuit malt to start this one off, before we turn to the mildest berry yeast note mixed with cut grass before the grass joins, herbal hops, and earth the offer a resounded but not overdone bitter end.

Mouthfeel: So the carbonation isn't as low as the head and body would have you believe, but part of mean thinks it's a bit low. It's trying to do that soapy, cleansing of the palate, but the beer just can't keep up near the end of the experience as the hop bitterness starts to cling. Up until the 3/4 done mark, the beer is very clean to the palate with little aftertaste to speak of. Transistioning is good, but I can't help but feel the middle of the beer is a bit muted.

Drinkability: So I'm noticing this beer is a bit more gassy in the gut, but other then that, it doesn't really have any problems settling down. On the lighter side of medium body, and refreshing, but not quite as clean as I'd like it to be.

Final Thoughts: Honestly, if not for how gassy the beer was after consumption, I'd almost be inclined to think, perhaps something isn't quite right wit the carbonation the airport bar's tap system is giving the beer. It's good, but it's missing some marks, landing it in the area of perfectly serviceable.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. No date stamp or lot number. My 14th beer from the Oakville, Ontario brewery, and 2nd for 2026. Lovingly adored by Gracie the cat...

Poured a thin foam head. Light gold color. A little light on aroma but there is a slight floral smell. Taste is really nice. Super smooth and easy to drink. A little grain taste, which i always like. Not hoppy. A little malty but not much. Very solid beer. You got to give it a try if you like pilsner in Canada. I'll buy more of these for sure.

I bought also out of the mixer pack at the LCBO in Ontario Canada
473ml can at 5%.
Poured into glass with a 2 finger head leaving a lace as you drink it very clear and golden color
Hmm easy to drink with a very slow or low carbonation and a low bitterness level.
Overall an easy drinking Pils.
Cheers

473 mL can from the LCBO, included in Cameron's I ❤️ Craft Beer mixed six pack. Coded Apr 20 2023 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a clear golden-yellow colour, tossing up an inch of soapy white foam that collapses within a minute or two. Afterwards, a modest swath of lace has been deposited onto the glass, with a tight collar and thin film lasting on the surface. The aroma is on point for the style: clean, grainy pale malts and breadiness, with hints of biscuit and floral, grassy, herbal noble hops.

I like it - I'm tasting plenty of grainy pilsner malt, with lesser notes of bready, wheaty sweetness. Noble hops become discernible later on, adding a grassy, earthy bitterness to the back end; a grainy, grassy conclusion quickly dries completely. Light-bodied, with moderately low carbonation that gently brushes against the tongue, resulting in a smooth mouthfeel and exceptional drinkability. As with any worthwhile pils, I could easily drink this all night without getting tired of it.

Final Grade: 3.83, a B+. Cameron's Pastime is a good pilsner: put this in a blind tasting line-up along with some pilsners from Germany, and I doubt I'd be able to single this out as the Canadian impostor. That's not to suggest it's mind-blowing, or anything - it's well-brewed, but otherwise boilerplate, so it'd be an acceptable substitute for some of my go-to lagers. Give it a shot if you enjoy traditional pilsners.
