Oh hell yeah, Frost Beer Works just started distributing to at least a small amount of accounts in MA! I just picked up single cans of this, Lush, and Double Shush, all canned some time in the last couple of weeks. Very exciting. I've never reviewed a Frost beer before but I believe I've had sips of others friends have brought back from their VT travelings.
Pours a pretty much opaque, medium-amber color with peach Bellini-like coloration and an enormous head of eggshell-white foam. This foam takes 3-5 minutes to get remotely close to dissipating, and once it does, it still retains excellent legs and leaves behind swathes of chunky lace sticking around all over the inside of my glass. Incredible appearance, and somewhat darker/more characterful than expected. This has got me pumped, for sure!
So I guess this is a big ol' Citra/Mosaic NEIPA, which is somewhat normal at this point, but at least my first true experience with the brewery is something I can put into perspective with other beers like this that I've had. My first sniff leads me to detect a lot of ripe mango, pineapple, earthy red berry, and tangerine with a helping of intense rindlike citrus and dankness coming from the Mosaic. I'm glad the Citra helps things get a little more subtle here, as my middling experiences with all-Mosaic DIPAs is well cataloged on this site via my reviews. There is a helllllll of a lot going on here, and it's all vying for space, but this seems to be quite well-made, as I pick up a lot of distinct, fun, fruity notes as well as that huge backdrop of resinous green that Mosaic can give in stronger pales. Great stuff... high hopes for this on the palate!
And of course, it's a winner. This is super juicy but still definitely hop-saturated, and it drinks its full strength, to boot. I like a nice bitter and semi-hot double NEIPA now and again, and this is hitting the spot for me right now. Not as much of a pure fruit bomb as it could be, but it's better for it. Lots of bright citrus, dank resinous character, light earthy spice, raspberry juice, oats, apricot, and pineapple. Like I mentioned, it's going a lot of places at once, but I'm interested in the entirety of the journey it's taking my palate on. Feel and structure are great here, as well; can't complain one bit. At first it had a bit of hop burn, but that wore off pretty quickly. Smooth drinking with an appropriate ethanol heat, low-medium carbonation, round and complex mid-palate and long-lasting finish that coaxes me to keep drinking it. Man, this is the shit! One of my new go-to DIPAs for sure. Hope the other two are of this quality!

Look: big fluffy head, hazy, gold with a burnt orange hue, good lacing
Smell: ripe tropical fruit, pine resin
Taste: melon, spice, peach, grapefruit, pine resin, sweet fruit sugar
Feel: med thick body, moderate carbo, soft, creamy
Overall: 8% abv. It's been a couple of years since I last had this and it's still as good as I remember. Nice ripe tropical scent. Tastes of grapefruit and peach are engulfed by melon. Pine resin eventually rears its head and there's a sweet fruity sugar that comes out too. Soft and creamy on the mouthfeel. A delicious offering from Frost. I suggest you pair Double Ponyboy with Deuce from the Kiss Double Platinum Album. Do it!

From a can dated 09/10/24. Pours an amber orange and densely hazed. Lovely nose of tropical fruit. Similar palate with a bitter finish. A very nice DIPA.

Bought a four pack and just poured into a pint. Really thick and dark orange. First impression and smell is that of pineapple. First sip is creamy and not boozy at all. Damn, this is really good.

Growler into pint glass. Pours a murky dark gold color with a persistent off-white head. Great lacing. Initial impression is juicy pineapple, citrus, mango, light caramel, and a touch of pine. Mouthfeel is super-juicy, soft and pillow-y. Finish fades to a slightly sweet citrus. A quite enjoyable NEIPA.

On tap at Blackback Pub in Waterbury, VT.
This one pours a fairly hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
There’s a ton of juicy pineapple on the nose, with a touch of mango and grapefruit.
This is incredibly juicy in a fresh and exciting way, with just a touch of floral bitterness on the back end. There’s just a ton of fresh, juicy, and vibrant pineapple juice vibes here, with some marijuana and fresh cut grass flavors, and a touch of wheaty sweetness.
This is medium bodied, pretty creamy, and richly drinkable.
It’s hard to not enjoy this one.

The pineapple in this one is other-worldly, even in a 3-month-old can. Absolutely outstanding. Silky body with an orange-gold glow. Creamy head with fantastic lacing. Tropical salad nose with giant bursts of canned pineapple and Juicy Fruit gum. Full carryover to the taste but just a touch muted versus the nose. Soft and coating feel with perfect carbonation but no stickiness. One of the best hazies I’ve had in a while. And definitely the most pineapple-forward beer I’ve ever had.

Double Ponyboy Frost Beer Work:
The aromatics of the hops is very intense and fresh. Deep layers of tropical, husky earth notes, creamy citrus and a full, smooth feel. High grade DIPA for sure. The hop complexity is very high. A crispy, crunchy bite at first that becomes silky smooth.

Can: Poured a hazy bright yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy hoppy floral undertones notes with some juicy hops notes. Taste is a mix of juicy hops notes with some hoppy floral hops undertones with some citrusy notes with light fusel alcohol notes that are discernible. Body is about average with good carbonation. Nice hoppy double NEIPA though fusel alcohol shows up a bit too much.
