Bottle from Winooski Beverage.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a dark semi-murky brown almost black in color. Nice level foamy eggshell white foamy and sifts off to a nice semi-rocky sort of look. The lace looked really nice, somewhat concave.
The aroma took some tart red raspberries to a light bitter dark chocolate. Acidic sour and woody character bit at a light vinous quality. Light grassy to earthy character.
The flavor leaned into the sour and acidic features of red wine, red raspberries, and some dried semi-roasty bitter dark chocolate. Light aftertaste of the sour quality - meshing the red wine and red raspberries, just a hint of the bittter dark chocolate.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it due to the sour harshness. It's not overbearing, but I have to admit, it's quite noticeable. Carbonation felt fine, actually. ABV felt pretty close to what was projected. Slight finish of the sourness with a touch of some sticky red raspberries.
Overall, I'd say this was a pretty nice "sour" saison that I would be willing to come back to.

The beer pours a murky, dark brown with an enormous beige head that lasts to the very end.
The smell is pretty laid back even after the enormous head starts to fall. Honey for sure, raspberry, sweet like molasses, dark fruit other than raspberry. Very earthy, and almost a balsalmic vinegar type of aroma.
The taste is BIG...lots of honey and raspberry mingled with other dark fruits. A touch of chocolate, toffee, molasses. Lots of earthiness, a rich character to the taste, not overly carbonated. There is an element of balsalmic vinegar about the taste as well - very mild acidity, but that more of that sweet, earthy flavor.
The feel is medium to heavy on the body, mildly carbonated despite the foaming.
There is a lot to unravel with this beer. It was an enjoyable drinker, changing as it warmed. Interesting, maybe a bit rough around the edges. Recommended.

Pours cloudy dark brown with a creamy khaki colored foam head. Smells like fresh tart funky raspberries, honey, roasty toasted bready malts, chocolate, coffee, caramel, nutty molasses, brown sugar, vanilla, woody oak, with floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Tastes like tart funky raspberries, honey, roasty toasted bready malts, chocolate, coffee, caramel, nutty molasses, brown sugar, vanilla, dry woody oak, with floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Bottle from Bert's
Murky deep brown color with a huge bubbly off white head that takes forever to recede. Berry's on the nose with bits of earth and light funk and a touch of sweet bread. Earthy funky berry with bits of faint sweetness and a touch of aluminum. Massive carbonation lightly tart acidic mouthfeel. Not too shabby.
