On tap:
Pours a lovely golden that is extremely clear. Head wasn't too large in my pour, but was decent enough that I think a good pour would produce a medium to large head. Either way it was lasting with early lacing.
Nose is hard to make out, but seems lightly lager-like with a grassy bitterness.
Taste when cold starts with a clean opening, but is immediately followed by a punch of grassy bitterness. Deeper investigation shows a little tropical note, indistinct but lightly sweet like maybe papaya or pineapple. This note is consumed by a piney finish.
A warmer beer starts to show the malts. A biscuity to white bread yeast and sweetness tries to push through the bitterness, but it only manages to balance it out a little.
A little tiring on the tongue thanks to the bitterness. Later in the glass is a bit easier with the balance - medium light.
This is a hoppy lager - and takes the first part seriously. I might be getting it fresh, and it evened out at the end, so it might settle into a bitter-leaning brew. I enjoyed it either way.
