Holy spotted cow!!! A massive beer store inside the woodmans right off of 94. They touted the worlds largest display of new glarus beers. Wish they had more singles . Recommended stop in between Chicago and Milwaukee

I drive here a couple of times a year. The selection is great and the staff is helpful. It is easier to purchase six packs of New Glarus and make your own beer sampler. I will be up in the next few weeks to buy some for the family and friends this Christmas.

Finally got to this well known New Glarus resource. I found a ton to love. Sure, it is a grocery store, and seriously cluttered besides, but the selection is great, the prices solid, and I love that they put the limited items on display behind the counter. It controls the access while still making it clear to everyone what’s available.

This grocery store has a huge selection of beer, liquor and wine. Their selection of Wisconsin and national craft beers is pretty impressive. They have a ton of coolers so a lot of the beer is kept cold too. I almost always stop here if I am in the Kenosha area. Recommended.

Guess why I go here ?
This is the easiest place for Chicagoans to go and cop New Glarus. Because they have the good sense not to deal with the Illinois ABC and their laws that favor distributors to the point of exploiting brewers, New Glarus does not distribute in Illinois. Since this store is right across the border in Kenosha, people living under the state of Illinois find great relish in coming up here. I am proud to be one... probably twice a year.
In addition to it being a huge grocery store for struggling families to stock up, Woodman's also is a good value for beer with a great selection of Wisconsin and Midwest beers that also includes as good a selection of imports as you can find in Chicago. It is mostly self-service. But if you know what you are looking for, go there.

As a card carrying FIB, it's about time to rate FIBman's. This is the New Glarus beer mecca for Illinois residents. I cannot even imagine the volume of New Glarus they must go through but I imagine a decent percentage of it is from Illinois residents. I try to help out anyway. So yes, tons of New Glarus here and at the best price one is likely to find so a great destination just for NG beers alone. But a lot of other great beers can be found here too (e.g., Weyerbacher & Epic Brewing). Plus prices are usually at the lower end of the spectrum here so win-win in many cases. They do give a volume discount when one purchases a case or more (used to be 10% I thought but seems to be 5% now). Some limited beers are on display behind the main register. These are usually 1 per customer. Yeah the vibe sucks but it's a grocery store! Do some shopping after hitting the beer section. A visit to Woodman's is a must when driving through Kenosha.

Made the hour trip up from Chicago to grab some New Glarus. Solid selection of New Glarus and a plenty of other Wisconsin breweries, and a decent selection of other regional and national brands. I was surprised that they didn't have a large selection of bombers (or maybe I missed them). I was going to grab some Surly as well, but can dates on the Surly were over 5 months old, so I passed and had didn't buy anything that didn't have a bottle/can date just in case. I will say that Wisconsin has crazy low prices on craft beer, with lots of sixers at $7.99 and hardly any over $9.99. In Michigan, $9.99 seems to be the entry level, and plenty of brewers are hitting the $11.99 price point for even basic offerings

A great source for New Glarus releases just over the IL border. Other WI only beers as well. Oddly no credit cards are accepted, so plan accordingly.

Excellent selection, better than most places I've been, and the build-your-own helps a lot out when trying new things.

Good selection of beers. Some beers that you can't get in IL. No credit cards are accepted here. Grocery store is great too. Huge selection and good prices.

The liquor department is just smaller than a Binny's store. It has a great selection of beers. Mostly Wisconsin and local breweries, but there are a few others too.
The prices cannot be beat. If you live in Chicago and want to get away for an afternoon go here to pick up New Glarus beers. It's not a tourist place like Mars and less expensive.
