What we need in this time of hardship is a hero. a Real American Hero. Hulk Roggen, a smooth rye ale fermented with our house Weiss yeast released on 3/19/2020, is here to hold over the fine people of Cedar Park and beyond as we bond together to fight a battle of attrition against a tenacious foe. The Hulkster doesn't back down from anything, and neither will we. Crack a can, we've got this!

16 oz "Crowler" to a tulip
A: pours a turbid amber/light brown body. a foamy cream head builds excitedly and falls calmly with high retention. sketches of foamy lacing are left behind as the head falls into frothy patches across the top.
S: a clean, earthy hop bumps up through spicy and sour yet non-abrasive malts, with a yeasty dash of funk on the side
T: rye spiced malt and sour tinges with the clean earth hops coming thru "between the lines" - their house Weiss yeast comes through in spades to funk it all up before falling back into a "licking liquidized cracked pepper and leather" vibe.
F: fairly high level carbonation with a medium-light body, making for a surprisingly smooth experience that leaves a dry finish to linger on the cheeks
Overall (personal opinion):
this is my first experience with this brew type, and it was funky and weird and delightful. my initial view on the "look" of the beer has since changed after looking other examples of the brew style up online. the taste is heavy malt with funk; almost like comparing white bread to sourdough for the first time really. closest thing i've had to it is the Meddler by Odell a few years back, but mixed with a brown ale. either way, it's funky and it's good and it stays there the whole way thru. excellent.
