We partnered with Cornerstone Ranches from Toppenish, WA to produce a beer intended to pay homage to our collective Gonzaga roots. Crafted with freshly picked Centennial hops grown by Zag Alumni Graham Gamache and brewed by Zag Alumni Dru Ernst. A modest malt backbone and loads of fresh Centennial hops combine for an earthy, dank and piney experience.

12oz can served in a snifter. BB date is 12/14/21, which I would guess means it was canned on 09/14/21. Hop varietal is stamped the with date on the bottom of the can. Full stamp says: "CENTENNIAL #795 BB:12/14/21"
Pours a dark golden with a medium sized head. Smell is Centennial hops. Citrusy, resinous goodness. A little bit of green vegetable matter.
Taste is moving in the direction of what I want from a fresh hop IPA. It's not a vicious kick in the teeth, but it's a vigorous slap in the face. I still get a background sweetness from the malts which, when combined with floral notes from the hops, tend to make me think of honeysuckle. Tons of lemon and grapefruit zest and pith, with a slow resinous bitter finish.
Mouthfeel is very light and dry. Overall, this is not the best fresh hop beer that I've had this year, but it is very well constructed and very enjoyable to drink.
