Poured a crystal clear copper with a nice white head that quickly faded to thin little whisps leaving a nice lacing on the glass with each sip.

The aroma was primarily sweet malt with hints of raisin and a touch of caramel tones. Mainly malty and sweet.

Taste was a big blast of hoppy bitterness. Earthy and piney with little sweetness. It lacked the complexity I’d like to find in an IPA.

Mouthfeel was pleasant. Not overly carbonated but could for sure feel it and had some body to it.

Overall not much there. Lots of bitterness but lacking in the complexity and flavor profile I would expect.

On draft at the Waikiki location. part of a flight of four. Enjoyable brew. Heady scent of hops in this one, overall, really easy to drink, like all Waikiki Brews.

Served in a tulip glass. Not much of a head but it does leave some rings of lace. Dark amber color with a very light haze.

Strong caramel aroma. Low hop nose.

The flavor is nearly opposite of the smell. It is very hop forward. The malt, while present, gets dominated by the hop pellet bite. The swallow and aftertaste is all white pepper. The body and carbonation are pretty standard.

On tap at Ka'anapali Grille And Tap Room in Lahaina, HI.

Pours a murky dark orange with a foamy beige head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus fruit, citrus zest, and grapefruit juice aromas. Taste is much the same with dirty citrus zest, grapefruit juice, and earthy hop flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an average beer that is drinkable, but it's very dirt and earth forward all around.

Serving type: on tap.

On tap in Hawaii. Fairly typical citrus and pine IPA, but with a little more malts and sweetness than many. Overall, it is certainly drinkable but not memorable.

Juicy, green brew, with a fair bit of grain on the palate - both caramel and pale. Grapefruit peel and pith come across from the hops. Lively and oily feel. This is a solid IPA, perhaps a notch above Red Hook's Longhammer, making it a very acceptable go-to IPA if you have it on tap locally.

Just doesn't have the hoppy smell and taste of an IPA. It's all malt with some dry, bitter aftertaste. What flavor there is isn't wholly unpleasant, but it lacks significant hop presence.
