Golden Fruit Ale. Sweet, Fruity, Ambrosia-like essence. Like a peach pie with a dollop of whipped cream. Balanced slightly to the sweet side, the dry finish helps keep this beer in balance and in check. Creamy and hazy in appearance with a thick white head. Flavor comes solely from real fruit and the creaminess comes from wheat and lactose used. A perfect fruit ale for those long, hot summer days or watching some baseball. Batter up!

A- hazy orange in color with a one finger head. light lacing on the pint.
S- malt and light peach but nothing overpowering.
F- peach and peach. very strong and juicy
M- peachy and juicy. medium bodied
O- the peach is nice. good beer

This may seem counterintuitive, but thanks to my long hours at work & drinking less as a result, I am finding more beers in my backlog that I want to drink! Aldus is a small brewery in (relatively) nearby Hanover & I have been buying their bottles (gasp!) on occasion, usually to fill out a mixed sixer. It suddenly struck me that I have enough for a brewery horizontal, of which this will be the second.
From the Bottle (yow!): "Golden Fruit Ale. Sweet, Fruity, Ambrosia-like essence. Like a peach pie with a dollop of whipped cream. Balanced slightly to the sweet side, the dry finish helps keep this beer in balance and in check. Creamy and hazy in appearance with a thick white head. Flavor comes solely from real fruit and the creaminess comes from wheat and lactose used. A perfect fruit ale for those long, hot summer days or watching some baseball. Batter up!"
As with the previous Fruit & Field Beer from them, I noticed some lees/flocculate resting on the kick/punt, so I did some pre-Pop!ping of the cap agitating action to get them back into suspension. Once the cap was Pop!ped off, I went with a heavy-handed C-Line pour into my awaiting glass. This resulted in the formation of two-plus fingers of foamy, soapy, rocky, French Vanilla-colored head with moderate retention. Once more, the room smelled like I had sprayed air freshener! 8=O I leaned in for a a sniff & was met with a peach orchard! 8=O Man, these guys really know their stuff when it comes to fruit beers! Mouthfeel was medium with a slickness on the tongue. The taste was very peachy & keen, too, but with a slight tang from the wheat, making it very evocative of a liquefied peach pie. Mmm. I really did not taste the vanilla as strongly as they led me to expect, but I was okay with that. I would put the finish at semi-sweet, rather than "dry" as they did. The peaches carried the day & in so doing, left it more sweet than anything else, only slightly offset by the wheat. Man, this was yummy! Now, I want to eat a Tastykake Peach Pie with some coffee for breakfast tomorrow ... YMMV.
