Brewed with Tangerine, Blood Orange Fruit & Vanilla Beans. We wanted to take a juicy beer to a whole new level, and we succeeded ... One pound of tangerine/orange puree per gallon of beer. Flavors of Orange Juice; dry, sweet, pale malt with little hop character. Some of the perceived sweetness comes from a background hint of creamy vanilla.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has an orange color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of oranges, little else. Taste is also dominated by oranges, not much else going on. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

This may seem counterintuitive, but thanks to my long hours at work & drinking less as a result, I am finding more beers in my backlog that I want to drink! Aldus is a small brewery in (relatively) nearby Hanover & I have been buying their bottles (gasp!) on occasion, usually to fill out a mixed sixer. It suddenly struck me that I have enough for a brewery horizontal, of which this will be the sixth and last (for now).

This one really speaks to me from my youth! I used to get a $0.10/day allowance back when a dime actually bought something. We would walk to Smithgall's Pharmacy for a cherry Coke at the fountain & I would splurge on either a CANdy bar or an ice cream (hence my being a bit chonky until I hit puberty), the latter of which was usually a Dreamsicle (or Creamsicle) - vanilla ice cream enrobed in/with orange sherbet! Mmm. I gave up on them when they became more sherbet than ice cream. 8=(
I started my journey down Memory Lane with a Pop! of the cap, followed by a slow, gentle C-Line pour until I realized that there were a LOT of lees on the kick/punt & increased my efforts. This resulted in the formation of just under two fingers of foamy, soapy, rocky, ivory-white head with modest retention. Color was a cloudy, turbid Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9). Nose was redolent with the smell of orange citrusiness & vanilla, instantly returning me to my youth! Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was wonderfully orange-y & citrusy with just enough vanilla to keep the citric acidity under control. They did this one just right, keeping both the malt(s) & hops to a minimum & allowing the adjuncts to be the stars of the show. Finish was semi-sweet since I would not consider any aspect of it as "dry", but there was also a definite citrusy tanginess throughout. Mmm. YMMV.
