Notes: It’s electric! Bask in the snap and crackle of nelson sauvin + taiheke + motueka + citra, branching out into notes of crushed ripe mulberry, zingy kiwi, dried mango & lime zest.

A 16 fl. oz. can, canned on 5th September 2018, ‘If you catch a wolf, you need a wolf’. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.

Appearance: A murky dark orange colour with an almost two finger white head that had good retention but left only sparse lacing.

Aroma: Mango, pineapple, apricot, grapefruit rind, citrus zest, and a hint of papaya.

Taste: Moderate sweetness and juicy, orange juice, grapefruit rind, lime zest with notes of kiwi, peach and mango.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall: A nice IPA with good tropical aromas. Taste leans citrusy, but not bad at all.

(2018)

A: Opaque dull-ish yellow-gold with a thin white sticky head.

S: Has a peppery thing going on. Some tropical fruits in the back.

T: Like the nose, it has this peppery or earthy thing to it - like a tea or botanical note. But this doesn't take over the beer, it more so lingers in the back the whole time. With that is various tropical fruits, mainly melon and citrus flesh. That peppery note lingers, along with a dry hoppiness and astringency.

M: Good pillowy feel to it, yet bright and sharp.

O: This is interesting. I'm assuming these flavors come from the types of hops used to brew this beer. It has all the wonderful qualities of a typical (NE)IPA but with this zing to it. Awesome!

L - 1-finger medium density offwhite head craters in from the middle, leaving gobs of sticky lacing. Body is an ominous, near-opaque milky orange.

S - oranges, pine, herb, grass.

T - grapefruit and orange flesh, some pineapple, layered with dank. Very earthy, peppery middle. Not sure which hop is creating the pepper taste but it dominates. Moderate bitterness. No sweetness. Low booziness.

F - medium, delightfully creamy body with medium carb.

O - never had Taiheke hops before. I’m guessing they are the instigator for the pepper taste. I’m quite enjoying it though.

On draft.
L: Very hazy for a single IPA. Murky as hell. About a finger of head with some lacing.
S: Pineapple, mango and citrus on the nose. Slight yeast presence.
T: Pineapple is dominant fruit flavor with a biscuity malt complex. Very peppery and bitter as well, which is nice.
F: Soft, full and smooth. Mild carbonation.
O: Enjoyable and grateful I could try. Cheers!
