A: Hazy bronze like coloring has a ton of active effervesce. A dull white head is one inch, with a pitted spongy surface from the strong carbonation activity beneath. The vessel displays a nice decorative pattern of lace suds.

S: Juicy green melon and pear appear on the nose. Some light musky grains and musky citrus flowers. I'm definitely picking up a lot of those juicy pear like yeastiness which seems to be the dominating factor here. Very respectable strength per abv% while keeping balance with the malts.

T: Fruity and musky flavor, peaches and apricot along with green melon. Musky citrus and Belgian grains. Flowery appeal from the dry hopping, along with some dank pineapple and grapefruit peel. Nice malt base overall.

M: Spicy and crisp mouthful, tart and dry.

O: Overall a lot of musky citrus fruit and grains finishing with some dry hops give this a big flavor per abv% of 3.4. Very crisp and nice fullness.

Can from The Bantam Market.

A mostly clear light yellow with a dense white head with good retention and lacing this looks great. The nose is soft and delicately spicy, soft and fruity with honey, melon, a little cotton candy, a dry , earthy spice note. The palate opens soft and appropriately light with honey, cotton candy, a nice, delicate, earthy bitterness, a little melon , a little citrus. Soft yet crisp with a mineral, spritzy carbonation, lingering earthy and mildly peppery bitterness. Quite excellent, especially the mouthfeel, which is light but firm and never watery.

A medium-strong pour from a 16-oz. can releases a finger of rocky dense white head with long retention and arches lace. Canned on 05/29/19.
Clear golden yellow color with no sediment and a slight haze(yeast?).
Strong smell of bright piney hops, ripe honeydew melon with toasted pale malt and baking spice. Items from the smell follow to the taste with added sweet malt and apple.
The hop flavor changes to citrus and the spice is more pronounced. At first the taste is boldly hoppy yet averagely bitter and semi-sweet, this morphs to semi-dry as bitterness builds to strong at the clean, even finish. A light bitter hop aftertaste lasts a few minutes.
A little grainy yet still smooth, medium-light bodied and above average carbonation.
The bigger than average hop flavors, solid malt back bone and bitterness are balanced by the low ABV. Veers off the style guidelines a bit, still highly enjoyable.

This one pours a slightly hazy golden orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like candied grapefruit, sweet malt, flowers, honey, and maybe even a touch of vanilla.

This is really excellent, with a firm hop character - grapefruit and floral hop tastes are pretty strong here. There’s a touch of malt sweetness and some honey, and a very nice crispness to tie it all together.

This is light bodied, but not thin, with a great creaminess. It’s very drinkable.

Allagash is really very good at making full flavored low alcohol beers.

I'm going to give this a 4 across the board and revist it at some later date. I drank it on 07.21.19 out of a cooler, very cold, from the can, in a koozie, on the beach. The first third tasted excessively carbonated, light and grapefruity - kinda like a grapefruit seltzer water. Not that great. After it warmed a bit, I'm happy to say it came into its own - the body emerged, the carbonation seemed to ease, and the flavor emerged. Much better. I ended up ditching the last little bit into the sand as it had warmed a little too much...no big whoop. Lesson learned - don't drink this beer too cold out of the can! Treat it with respect and do the right thing. Next time I will pour, admire and fawn! Cheers!

Transparent golden bubbly body topped with frost. Banana, grass, lemon skin, mild farmhouse in the nose. Tastes of mild farmhouse, hay, lemon skin, pine, apple skins? Light bodied, light carb.

Pint can - dated 05/30/19 - poured into a 25cl Allagash tulip at 44F.

Pours a slightly hazy pale straw yellow, w9th two fingers of loose, rocky, white head that eventually deflates to a lacey cap, leaving some peaks of lacing behind.

Nose: Soft wheat and pale grains form a classic Allagash backdrop, with wonderfully fragrant Belgian yeast aromas. Lemon zest, lemon pulp, dried orange peel, coriander, white grapefruit, white pepper, pear, apricot, honeydew melon, and just the slightest hint of farmhouse funk. Very delicate and clean.

Palate: Opens up with a gentle rustic grain bill, with a beautifully malty barley note, with watered-down white grapefruit juice quickly showing up. Very subtle flavours of lemon zest, dried orange peel, coriander, green melon, pear, Belgian yeast esters that somehow never translate as clove, banana, nor bubblegum. The grapefruit note grows, never becoming bitter, before the finish brings more dried orange peel, white peppercorn, faint herbal hops, and closing with that malty barley note once more. From start to finish, the beer is refreshingly dry -almost chalky in the finish, and very delicate.

Mouthfeel/Body: At 3.4% ABV, naturally, the beer is quite light in body. There's no malt heft or weight, and the entire experience is the embodiment of crisp, light, and refreshing. A lively, tingly effervescence adds an airy feel, furthering the crisp drinkability of the beer. There is a slight softness to the feel, due to the soft grains used, but it doesn't add weight. The beer manages to stay incredibly light, bright, and delicate, without coming across as watery or overly thin.

Overall: This is really a beautiful Belgian-style pale ale. It's really the definition of a Belgian pale ale - in "session" form. It's remarkably similar to Allagash Sixteen Counties, in terms of the general base beer. It's significantly less hoppy, and much lighter, at half the ABV, but there's nothing about this beer that seems to work against itself. It's one of the most refreshing beers I've ever encountered, and sacrifices nothing in achieving that. On a sweltering summer day, I would grab a cold one of these before almost anything else. A really nice offering from Allagash. A home run.

Ok so if you know what the object of this beer is, to make a great flavorful hop forward below 4% ABV session beer, then you have to be impressed with this! Wow. I ranked this up there with the other below 4% ABV greats like Brix City’s Table IPA, and Ballast Point’s Mango Even Keel! Just a great crisp hoppy tasting beer for a very hot summer day! So glad I picked this up today. Allagash is an underrated bigger distro brewery IMO.
