it seems these nordic yeast saisons are becoming more popular of late, i wish they would leave out the fruit here and just showcase the yeast, its muddled and weird to me as a result and i dont get to learn as much about the yeast as i wanted to! it is a saison type with blueberries and raspberries, cloudy and maybe lightly pink, but its dim lit in the taproom and its tough to tell exactly. the aroma is cool, less vinous than a french saison strain usually is, and pretty rustic and also crisp at the same time, i can tell i like the yeast, but there is this sweet almost melted sherbet character from the fruit that corrupts the yeasts relationship to the grain for me, distracts from the essence of the beer, and prevents my understanding of it from going any deeper. the fruit is sweet and doesnt really taste all that natural to me. fuller wheaty body, sort of creamy feeling, and nicely carbonated. i need to find a simpler expression of this yeast out there, i think there is lots and lots of potential there, but this beer does a poor job of making it obvious...
