The imperial saison poured very heavy and produced a poor head. Dunno if this because of the high alcohol content or what. Appearance of the beer is pale orange color with some amber hues. The carith of the beer is fair with some haziness. The beer does present with some carbonation bubbles, but not many. No Belgian lacing, really disappointing.
Nose: oranges, lemons, earthy floral hops, light toasted malt, biscuits, and phenols, and some spicy hop notes.
Taste: It is heavy malt flavor, some spicy hop flavors like a pilsner, earthy, lemon, orange, fruity esters, peppery, biscuity, and yeasty.
Mouthfeel is medium body, medium minus carbonation, some astringency, and medium dry finish.
I was expecting a punch in your mouth with flavor profile. It is malt heavy which hides the best part of a saison. The flavors was there, but I felt they was slightly muted. Good beer, but has potential to be phenomenal.
