Demented Brewing Company "Be Real Kiwi IPA"
16 fl. oz. can, coded "9/01/17" and sampled on 11/01/17

Notes via stream of consciousness: A massive head of off-white rises up over a cloudy golden body with an orange sheen as you pour it. The aroma is fresh and clean with some yeast and a suggestion of tropical fruits - kiwi specifically? perhaps there's some, but mainly orange. The flavor follows up on that suggestion and it's just a little bit yeasty and clearly tropical with notes of orange, mango, guava, passionfruit, and --- kiwi. It's nicely balanced by a median to moderate bitterness and it finishes mainly dry but still fruity with some residual sweetish malt fading quickly. There are some herbal, spicy, and even lightly piney notes in there as well. It's medium bodied and crisp, and looking back the head has held well and there's some very nice lacing behind. The alcohol never shows, but it shouldn't at just 5.7% ABV. Otherwise it's superbly balanced between sweet golden malt and hoppy bitterness with tropical flavor riding over top. Overall it's very well brewed (except for the residual yeastiness), superbly balanced, and remarkably drinkable.

This is the best beer I've had from Demented. Figured I'd stop by on my lazy Memorial Day to check out this new IPA along with a taster of Wrath (not gonna drop $18 on that bottle) and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked this beer. Low ABV and a lot of taste. Pours very hazy, lots of fruity hop aroma. Taste is light and refreshing, very fruity with the kiwi flavor. I could drink a lot of this this summer. Check it out!
