Let me say, up front, that I tend to gravitate to IPAs, porters and stouts.
Decanted from a 32 oz crowler, acquired one day earlier at the brewery, into a conical pint glass.
A: Dark brown, almost black with one inch mocha head. Limited Belgian lacing.
S: Dark malts with a strong pitted to tropical fruit (peach and mango) aroma initially, replaced as it warms by a distinct sweet, cafe au lait nose.
T: Dark malts interlaced with sweet, black coffee and at first a little pepperiness. Evolves to (pleasantly) increasing levels of sweetness, as it warms. Drinks just like sweetened coffee at the end with a pleasant coffee aftertaste.
M: Light to medium bodied with good retention of effervescence.
O: Wow! I found the bouquet moved from fruit to coffee and the palate from coffee to fruit. Distinct and exceptional. Hope it moves to regional distribution, so I can get some more locally.
