A collaboration with Other Half Brewing, this is a friendly tilt between square Chicago party cut and big triangle New York slices. Who will come out the winner?
Hand-selected Simcoe, HBC 586, Ekuanot and Sabro in an 8.25% double IPA.

Pours a cloudy golden orange with two fingers of foamy head that slowly dissipates to a thin ring with some lacing. Aroma of peach and faint citrus and pine. Taste follows nose.

2d review on BA. Amazing. Chicago square vs NY Triangles. Sharp.
a) Full on murk, scant head, skim top, ample lace.
s) LARGE! stone fruit, pine, and citrus zest.
t) LARGER! adds creamy layers of orangecicle, flower shop, perfume, acidic.
f) Acidic, wine like, memorable.
o) Best new DIPA for early 2023.

Insane layered imperial IPA. Great selection of hops, every sip a varied complex variation of this hop symphony.

Canned 1/10/23; drank 1/16/23 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque orange/yellow appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice off-white head; a thick curtain of lace.
Orange peel, dry wheat & faint cane sugar notes in the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel.
Orange peel , dry wheat, cream & faint cane sugar flavors. Faint booze heat emerged as this warmed.
Pretty good haze-r; not going to change your life but it's above average.

I can't read the canning date but it was released 1/12/23 at the brewery.

Another week, another great hazy from HB to try. I do love the can art (as usual) and the concept of square pizza cut vs triangle pizza cut for the NY collab with Other Half. If there's anything over rated, it's NY pizza! But Other Half knows how to make a hazy, so this collab should be tasty.
Smelling it, I'm not getting as much as I'd like or do from other HB releases. it's nice, it's just not new. There's lot of citrus and grapefruit rind here, which is great. The mouthfeel is smooth and full although there have been softer ones. As for the most important part, the taste, it's very nice but not on the level with their best. I like the bitterness and less sweet of a finish than normal for HB. It's more like an East Coast hazy, so I wonder if that's the Other Half part at work. There's enough sweetness to keep the balance and interest here for me. The flavors are just not anything really new or unique. Overall a great beer and worth buying anytime.
