you have to love coffee, but if you do, this is a pretty special beer. not quite as compelling as the lunex one they bottle awhile back, that changed my life, but this is a wonderful wild ale with corvus coffee, who i reckon is the best in town by leaps and bounds. its a golden sour base, possibly even their dreamland, but it takes on a whole new identity here with the addition of this ethiopian coffee. the coffee is a fresh ground espresso taste, dark chocolate, dried berry, wet earth, moderate acidity playing nicely with the lactic sourness of the beer as well. it must be blended in post fermentation, as the coffee aroma and taste are far fresher than i would think they would be if this were blended before ageing with the beer. its so earthy, and the acidity is never too much, its funky and lightly woody too, rich but lighter in body, really drinkable given the elements, and oddly cohesive for thinigs i wouldnt have thought to put together myself. some of the most interesting coffee beer i have ever had, and the base beer seems perfectly suited to these specific beans and their unique flavor profile. that said, i hope they turn this into a little series and keep some different coffees coming! love how bubbly and dry and expressie this is, exceptional beer overall, not to be missed if you are a coffee person!

"Golden sour with coffee"
The base is their Dreamland golden sour, with Corvus Coffee's Boloya beans.
