a neat new blended wild amber from these guys. its clear and very light copper in color, brightly lit in the glass, delicate looking, and very airy headed, white foam bubbles resting an inch high on top of the glass. there is a lot of bretty funk here, but it tastes kind of new at the same time. the malt is sweet all the way though, sugary even, fresh baked, and lighter in flavor than a lot of amber types, but sweeter too. the wild yeast is great, there is a slight bitter woodiness about it, some real rustic bretty musty farm-like qualities, and a straw or hay dried grassiness too. it never quite dries the beer out though, and as light and effervescent as it is, and as soft as it drinks without any sour acidity here hardly at all, it stays relatively sweet throughout, and while i normally frown on residual sugar in almost any style, i like it here. it extends a pleasant flavor profile even longer, and i think it balances some of the harsher edges of this yeast. a lively feeling and very interesting beer, a cool take on an amber, and very easy drinking for what it is. these guys just keep getting better and better...
