its becoming a redundancy, but the beers these guys are making have all seemed to arrive at this expert quality all of a sudden. it was a little hit or miss when they switched over from former future, but i assure you, these beers are fire right now no matter what you order. this one is a golden sour with salt and some cool citrus zest, lime heavy for sure but i think some lemon too, summery and highly fragrant, pungent and intense. the nose on this is absurd, it smells like overly zippy lime zest, like a candle or a lotion from bath and body works, but its not sweet and its super natural and real to me, so as much as this is an overly flavored ale, its also really appealing somehow. when i taste it, i am surprised because i want more and more. i thought for sure from the nose that this would be over the top, but its fresh and exhilarating to my palate, tropical from all the citrus, summery and vacation-esque, with vibes of gin and tonic with lime, salted cocktail rim, and ocean water, the salt aspect, with the lime of course, is not to be underestimated. i like how robust it all is, the sourness sort of keeps it in check, and its so alive with the bubbles and the piquant acidity. clever stuff, they had an unsalted version i didnt get to try, but it sure seems to make this cohesive and distinctive. really tasty for this time of year, almost gives me a suntan sipping on it. lovely!
