Slightly medicinal yet jammy sour. The black currants just lend themselves to the wild ale so well, add in some plum for sweet darkness, a touch of funky yeast, and I swear I taste some black cherry. Smell is sour oaked currants to the face! Very good sour, but nothing mind blowing

a really cool beer from these guys, 75% black currants and 25% plums, the opposite fruit composition of its sister beer, thor. this one has a slightly darker color to it, deep ruby red and fairly clear, shiny and saturated looking, the color of raspberry jam, beautiful, not overly bubbly or heady. the black currant is strong, these always seem to be lost to other fruits they are combined with, but in this case they seem to stand up on their own really well, tangy and tart in aroma and flavor, lightly medicinal and sort of pithy or drying, seemingly with a similar acidity as the sour red base has on its own, more bacterial sourness than mature funk to me, although the base beer does seem incredibly dry and well refined, complex from multiple fermentations over time, and the fruit pops through it gorgeously. i dont taste a lot of plums, even in the other beer with so much more plum in it i still think the currant is a little more dominant of a flavor. this is also pretty darn sour, like a small pour is about enough, my tongue and teeth feel tired after this, and its a lot on the palate, intense flavors with a long trajectory. its cool these guys are starting to bottle a bit more of their beer, and this is a neat project. the plum is subtle in this one at best, hard to pick out clearly at times, but overall i thought this was excellent, for me the better of the two, but thats purely opinion, both are fantastic!
