a wild red beer with 75% plum and 25% currant, a sister beer to atlas, which has inverse fruit proportions. this is a little more subtle to me than that one, somewhat less acidic but maybe just more balanced off from the plums and their sugar against the more medicinal and astringent currants. almost just as ruby red, maybe a little less dark, but just about as saturated in terms of red color. it smells a little sweeter and i just think plum is a more subtle flavor than currant, especially in this context, so i get a bit more or the sour red beer underneath than i do in the other one. still a lot of tart currant, some tang from the skins of the plum, fleshy and juicy, vibrant and fresh, lots of acid from the culture here, a cool grain complexion too this isnt all juice. some nice funk on it, red wine character, tannins and some dried cranberry or something. enjoyable beer, to me a little less dramatic and intense than the atlas, but an equally compelling beer. cool they released these together, i hope they do more of this kind of thing moving forward!
