Magnify Brewing Co. "Imperial Vine Shine"
16 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating
$5.00 @ Cherry Hill Wine, Liquor & Beer, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: There's nothing on the label about this beer expect for the alcohol content which is a respectable 8.3%. It's a hazy golden in color beneath a finger's width of white foam. Visible particulate can be seen in suspension, and based on my personal experience it's hops. The aroma is fairly bright with herbal and tropically fruity notes over a bready and sweetish malt base. The taste is quite similar as you might expect. I'm finding it more herbal than piney, although there is some, and the fruitiness remains citrusy and otherwise tropical with some mango, tangerine, melon, apricot, and grapefruit. It's solidly bitter, and despite it having a good deal of bready malt to it, it still finishes mainly dry. The herbal notes linger with sage and eucalyptus. It's an interesting beer with sweet malt, herbs, and tropical fruit all working together but still standing a bit apart from each other. In the mouth it's medium bodied and softly crisp. Ahh, I forgot about the alcohol. It has a clear presence but it's not hot or harsh. All in all I'm pretty happy with this beer. It's nicely balanced and not overblown.

Single can from Cheers. Nice Imp IPA. Soft NE hazy with some trop fruit, but full hop bill tends to bring a nice West Coast rind and dank. Nicely smooth. Above average for me. Glad I tried.

Poured from freshly-released can into a snulip glass. It is a hazy, honey-orange color with a large, fluffy, bright white head and lots of thick lacing. It has a big, bold nose featuring lemon, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, and soft floral hops. I think the Imperial version has a bigger malt presence than the O.G. But it still has lots of tart, bitter lemon and grapefruit, and pine sap. Only as it warms a bit do I notice more fruit sweetness, including tangerine. But like its little brother I think it drinks more like a West Coast IPA with its pronounced bitterness. The mouth feel is thicker than the original and you can feel the 8.3% ABV. This version is not a crusher. Overall, though, it is very good. The single IPA version, which is Magnify's flagship, tends to get lost due to the sheer number of new IPAs the brewery releases. This Imperial variant is released sporadically. I wish it were available more consistently.

8/11/21...cloudy gold, semi see through fast acting foam that is no more. Soapy nose. Gritty earth undertow. Deep resin flavor, oily and fast,. Slides out and fades. Some embedded citrus beneath. Relatively fast finish. With a bitter end.

Picked this up a while back and finally got around to it tonight. I'm fortunate enough that Magnify is near me and that I was able to easily obtain a beer such as this, as it was so smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. I did let this sit for a bit too long but even after a few month, this held up as well the smoothness and ease of flavors made this something that I had to pace myself through!
Nice pour to this as the beer had a golden hue, fluffy head with big bubbles, and left plenty of soapy lacing on the back of my pint glass. Typical citrus and tropical fruits from the hops as this wasn't terribly strong or potent from the get-go. Nice, balanced mouthfeel as the malt wasn't too strong or weak and the pine was relegated to the aftertaste. The mouthfeel was slick and lively, as it felt a bit like champagne but without a lot of carbonation to scrub everything down. The dank, earthy, bitter notes came in the end but they weren't terribly strong and faded relatively quickly as well. Mint and the aforementioned pine were afterthoughts that manifested themselves quietly once everything else was gone, as the finish to this was brisk and crisp.
A good amount of booze was present here but as in all good beers, it was subtly felt and not to be tasted at all. There wasn't anything outstanding to this but overall, this was solid and not as hazy or full of yeast like some of Magnify's other offerings; especially those in the Whoa series. Worthy of being a 1st Anniversary beer, I only wish I could go back and get some more for the house!

I received this as an extra and I'm glad I did. Looks good with a nice slightly hazy golden color. The smell is grapefruit and pine. The taste follows the nose with more grapefruit and some good pine flavor. My new favorite taste combo for IPAs is citrus and pine coming to the palette in full force. This beer delivers pretty well. I'm fairly impressed with this beer and would pick it over many pure citrus hop bombs.

Another stellar brew from the 2 Eric's and crew at Magnify. Not uber fruity like some big DIPA's but just fruity enough and oh so smooth with enormous flavor that has legs. Regular Vine Shine is a fine brew but this one really takes it to another level. Superb brew. Nice to have such an outstanding brewery in north Jersey. Cheers

Poured from a 16oz pounder into a short stemmed "signature" Magnify balloon glass...both classy and pretentious!
A- Pours a slightly hazy, yellow gold with about a finger of white head...much prettier than some of their murky (but still delicious) offerings like the Woah series of beers.
S- Delicious, juicy citrus flesh (tangerine, ruby red grapefruit) in addition to some tropical notes (mango) and some stone fruit (apricot)
T- Really enjoyable. This is a well executed balance of hop flavor, bitterness and malt backbone. The drinkability is dangerous at over 8% ABV since no alcohol is detected in the aroma or taste.
M- Medium mouthfeel courtesy of a sturdy malt backbone supported with a well-executed level of carbonation. The flavors (much of which are found in the aroma) play very well on the palate and no one element ever becomes fatiguing.
O - Congratulations to Magnify with a beautiful beer to celebrate their 1st anniversary. While I really enjoyed their 'Woah Citra' best after a month in the can (so the hops and the yeast have had time to congeal and compliment each other), I prefer Imperial Vine Shine absolutely fresh since the yeast character is a bit more subdued and the hops can take center stage. A little pricey @ $16 (4-Pack, 16oz cans) but Eric & co. clearly know how to make quality beer (both traditional and wild styles). A brewery to look out for nonetheless and given the chance, would absolutely purchase again. Happy to see them making solid beer in The Garden State!
