This was yet another beer from Magnify that I traded for relatively recently that I finally got around to this week. I was excited to have this as it was brewed in collaboration with Sand City but in the end, this was a bit disappointing. It wasn't a bad beer but given the high standards that both of these places have set, I though this would be a bit more memorable. This went down smoothly but without anything in particular to make this stand out from the other beers that I've had from both of these guys, in recent months.
Not a bad pour to this as the hazy, amber hue was restrained but had enough to it to be pleasing to the eye. Not a bad head on top of that as it took it's time to settle and the lacing left behind remained in the form of rings that slid down into the next layer. Mild tropical and grassy notes were in the aroma as they were a bit more pronounced in the taste. Some dankness, onions, and scallions came in under that once I gave this a sip but the overall taste was underwhelming, mild, and not terribly bright. Dare I say this reminded me of urine? It did, in some odd way though I'd rather drink this over something that would resemble that. Not a huge fan of the Nelson Sauvin hops, as this beer proved, and the grassy notes that won out over the other ones weren't enough to carry the day here. The sourness and odd bitterness present were just not enough to win me over.
Thankfully, the alcohol was muted in the taste as I didn't feel a warming effect or an overall strength when it came to this offering's amount of booze. For some reason, this never clicked with me but it wasn't something I'd pour down the drain either. A bit of potato-like bite and malt saved this from being too weak but given who had a hand in this, I expected more. Not something that I'd reach for again...

Not a bad collaboration at all! Nice bright hazy golden color with a soapy white head leaving spotted lacing behind. The smells are both citrus and tropical fruits, some grassiness and some cracker malts. The taste is malt then to tropical fruits moving to citrus fruit in that order/layer. The feel is medium/full but kinda dry. The back akso has a nice hop bite but a touch of alcohol heat as well. Overall pretty good, no date on the can so I want to try it super fresh next time!

Pours a hazy copper in color with a half finger of white head. Aroma is fairly neutral, some grainy malt, citrus, and tropical fruits. Taste hits the same notes as the aroma with a light+ bitterness in the finish. Medium-light body and moderate carbonation. Overall this is a solid beer but there is a little something in the taste that just holds this back.

L-golden color, slight haze, 1 inch head, thick lacing with good retention
S-I can smell the hops as soon as the can was opened..........tropical, floral, and dank
T-grassy, dank with a grapefruit / pine bitter hop finish.......some peppery notes
F-medium, mild carbonation, creamy
O-more bitter and dank than some of their other offerings

Dank weed, citrus, lemon grass, light on the tropical fruits. This one is brewed with their Vine Shine yeast strain and drinks more west coast style but maintains a restrained bitterness and balanced flavor. Excellent beer!
