Lil Zig Zag is a 6% dank West Coast IPA hopped with one of our favorite hop combinations. We used Apollo, Simcoe and Equinox for dank and herbal qualities.

Can one week old. Poured into Magnify 2nd anniversary glass. It pours a hazy golden color with orange hues and two fingers of bright white head and extensive lacing. The smell is subdued: faint melon, lemon peel, bubblegum, and light hops. The taste is very dank with lemon, grapefruit, grass, and bitter hops. There is also a subtle pepper at the finish. As the glass warmed, there is also a slight caramel sweetness. This ale features a medium body with moderate carbonation, and an easy drinking ABV of 6%. Overall, it is a dank, pleasant American IPA. While I liked it, I enjoyed Zig Zag Smoke and Imperial Zig Zag better.

No date on the can, but I believe this was canned 5 days ago. Honey gold with streaming bubbles and a pillowy head. Light haze.
The nose is orange candy, bubblegum, and bread crust, with some diesely hops. The taste follows, starting with subtle dankness, before tapering into mildly sweet kiwi, green melon, and orange. On the finish, some bitterness and grass. The mouthfeel is medium. Dries out toward the end.
Overall, this is a really good East Coast take on a West Coast IPA. The Simcoe delivers some catty, diesely dankess, but there are notes of candied citrus and Juicy Fruit throughout, to round and soften the flavor profile.

Appearance: Arrives a hazy amber; the head climbs to a finger and retains with good lacing action
Smell: Dank tropical aromatics; somewhat pithy
Taste: Dank at the outset with pithy grapefruit and pine tones; the bitter pith builds through the middle but the finish is dry
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: Good example of a west coast IPA on the east coast
