Late Nite is an Imperial IPA brewed with our friends at Triple Crossing. We met their team when we were in Pittsburgh for Dancing Gnome's 1 year anniversary. After a long couple of days, we ended the weekend on a high note with some beers and Late Nite grub from the famous Primanti Brothers. Doing what you love and making great friends along the way is what it’s all about. This 8% Imperial IPA is Double Dry Hopped with Mosaic, Nelson Sauvin and Simcoe.

Reviewed on release day. Poured from 16 oz. can into Magnify tulip glass. It pours a nearly opaque, dirty apricot color with more than a finger of fluffy, bright white head and lacing that barely dissipated through the pour. On the nose it's mostly lemon peel, a whiff of vanilla, and fragrant Mosaic and Nelson hops. The taste is delicate with light citrus and a hint of vanilla but the real flavor comes from the blend of Mosaic, Nelson Sauvin, and Simcoe hops. While they don't bite they leave a really nice dry, bitter aftertaste without astringency. This ale has a full, creamy mouth feel with moderate carbonation, and the 8% ABV doesn't distract from the great taste. While Late Nite has the look of a NE IPA, it's no fruit bomb; rather, it's a nicely crafted and measured DIPA that draws its taste from the hops. Very nicely done!
