Rock Me Dr. Vic is an 8% DIPA and another iteration of our single hop DIPA series inspired by our favorite movie about apes. We brewed this beer with loads of oats and Vic Secret hops. If you liked any versions of the series so far, you’re going to love this one.

Pours a hazy light orange with thick, fine foam.
Smell is juicy with notes of peaches, cantaloupe and over ripe mango.
Taste is as juicy as the smell, with huge amounts of apricot, peaches and melon washing over your oral cavity. Great bitterness and hop bite, really nice balance, and no hint of booze.
Mouthfeel is medium, soft and pillowy. Well carbonated.
Overall, another very good NE IPA from Magnify. These guys nail the mouthfeel as well as anyone.

Cloudy pale yellow-orange with four fingers of lasting yellow-tinted head. Nice rings of lacing.
Big floral hop aroma, a little bit stanky, with hints of tropical fruit, grapefruit rind and some doughy/biscuity malt behind.
Much fruitier tasting with a definite juicy sweetness up front -- pineapple, mango and strawberry -- then earthy, jungley stank coming up on the backend with light OJ and grapefruit. Moderately bitter, lightly piney finish.
Full bodied with decent carbonation cutting through anyhow.
I can see how this would be off-putting to a lot of people, but if you like the ape-like vic stank, it's good stuff. Really enjoying it.

Reviewed on release day. Poured from 16. oz. can into Magnify tulip glass. It pours an opaque, golden-tangerine color with an enormous, fluffy bright white head and lots of lacing that lasted through the pour. There's lots of citrus on the nose: lemon, lime, and grapefruit, along with pineapple, pine needles, and floral hops. The first thing I taste is the pineapple and citrus - providing both sweetness and tartness, followed by a good dose of oats adding more sweetness and a creamy quality. Then the Vic Secret hops provide a blast of bitterness and leave a decidedly bitter after taste. There's no yeast burn. The flavors come in waves and balance wonderfully. This ale has a creamy, almost chewy feel, with moderate carbonation, and the 8% ABV provides a nice pop. Overall, this version of the Dr. series is outstanding, providing a full gamut of bold tastes in a very drinkable way. I'm glad Magnify rotates this single hop DIPA series because I'll certainly buy more next time.
