I've enjoyed every Born Day but this one is my favorite and possibly my favorite Stout from Magnify to date. Magnify's Stout game is excellent and this might be the best. Nice thick mouthfeel as a proper Stout should be and incredible flavor throughout. The Coconut is just right. Fantastic beer, very well done.

Dark black with a short fuzzy mocha blanket settling to a thin ring.

Sweet, thick chocolatey cake and nutty nougat pair with almond vanilla frosting giving a sharp stingingly sticky finish. It gets pretty close to that German chocolate cake character as it warms, just not quite in the top tier of pastry stouts.

On draught at the brewery; sadly, I missed the bottle release. It pours a dark walnut color - almost black, with a thin, lite mocha head that dissipated quickly and minimal lacing. Its smell features rich milk chocolate, caramel, fresh coconut shavings, and a whiff of bourbon. It's really fragrant. The taste opens with big coconut and chocolate cake batter, along with notes of vanilla. At mid-sip the bourbon appears; it's warming but not distracting and it prevents the Stout from being overly sweet. The flavors are big and bold but they blend very well. The taste is delightful. Its mouth feel is creamy and viscous with lite to moderate carbonation; and there's no escaping the 12.5% ABV. While you can feel it it's not overpowering. Overall, this is a delicious pastry stout and fit for Magnify's 4th Anniversary. I like it a lot more than the original version released in 2018. The barrel-aging really balances the sweetness of the base stout.
