Pours black, with a head that barely covers the surface of the beer. Aroma is maple and bourbon. Taste follows, with a slight aftertaste of hazelnuts. The is thin on the tongue, not terribly complex and sweet. The ABV is noticeable but overly so.

Evidently I am a sucker for pricey 500ML bottles, because here we are. Maple syrup. That’s my joy spot.
The pour is deep black & dead. The nose is chocolate & assorted other sweetness, vague & unfocused.
Sinister Prime Minister – Bourbon Barrel Aged gets a minimal return from the great ingredients listed on the label. The primary impression is sweetness that I can’t assign to any specific stuff, backed by a cocoa bitterness that’s like Hershey’s Tongue Sandpaper. Finishes with malty sweetness & slight booze. I should have split this with my lovely wife.
Where’s the barrel? For a premium price I want my damn bourbon & it clearly leaked out of the brew at some point in the process. Decent enough but wouldn’t warrant another purchase.
