Dunk Contest is a new name for a beer that was originally called Boomshakalaka. Inspired by one of our favorite video games of the 90s, this 8% DDH Imperial IPA is hopped with Citra, Nelson, Mosaic, Citra Cryo and Mosaic Cryo. This is an absolute slam dunk of a hop combo.

Formerly known as Boom Shaka Laka but is now called Dunk Contest.
Appearance - Pours a deep golden peach with four fingers of frothy white head.
Smell - citrus, earthy, floral, and tropical hops, peach, mango, gooseberry, vinous characteristics, pineapple, bready malts, and earthy yeast.
Taste - bold citrus, earthy, floral, and tropical hops upfront. The peach, mango, gooseberry, vinous characteristics, and pineapple come through next. The bready malts and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky with the citrus and tropical hops and fruits lingering.
Overall - A nice hop combo for this brew. Although, this isn't my first choice of hops, I like how cohesive all the flavours come into play. A nice ode to the NBA Jam days.

Undated can into pint glass. Pours a murky pale gold (SRM 3) with a brief off-white head. Initial impression is juicy peach, lemon, grapefruit, mango, maybe a little pepper, blueberry, and a hint of grassiness. Mouthfeel is medium and a little sticky. Finish is slightly sweet but not overly so. My first beer from Magnify and I'm impressed!

Boomshakalaka! This Imperial IPA throws down some serious hops in your glass.
It pours a gorgeous golden straw. Very good head retention and a great lacing on the glass.
Balanced scents of hops and fruit. Neither is overpowering but both are noticeable and enjoyable.
Dunk Contest delivers a strong taste you'd expect from the name and the 8% ABV. A well balanced taste of hops and citrus and quality, smooth alcohol feel that you get from the higher ABV.
This IPA drinks smooth. Being a DDH beer it does not have a huge bite which I do tend to prefer. But for an 8% beer - it drinks very easy and can lead to a very good time!
Less than 1% of people in the world can dunk a basketball. And much like the rest of Magnify's selection Dunk Contest is a high quality IPA that is in that top tier of taste.

Pours a medium straw color, ample white head. Light citrusy aroma with a good dose of dankness. Big dank citrus flavor with a good amount of citrus flavor. Creamy feel. Overall I really, really enjoyed this dank citrusy DIPA.
