This immense 12.5% Imperial Stout is brewed with cake batter and aged in bourbon barrels for a year. We then conditioned it on peanut better and banana for a month before bottling.

Decanted from a 25.3 oz (750 ml) bottle into an Tree House goblet/snifter; 2020, 5th anniversary release.
A: Pours a deep mahogany to black hue with about a less than one finger, light brown head, not even rim retention or lacing, but perhaps some legs.
S: Aromas of ripe, even overripe banana, dark chocolate, vanilla, and Southern Comfort.
T: Very sweet. Flavors follow the nose, although banana and SoCo predominate. I can imagine peanut butter in the richness, but feel it is more impactful in the mouthfeel. Bitterness solid and nicely offsets sweetness and fruit/nut elements of flavor pallet.
M: Full bodied with low effervescence. Smooth and rich in texture.
O: Opened this up on perhaps the last warm weekend of 2020 in NY metro. Shared it with a friend. Both agreed it was fun, smooth and rich, with a delicious flavor profile. Will try to get back for the 6th anniversary.
