Reviewed 2 weeks after bottle release. Poured into a tulip glass. I have to say its look isn't appealing. It's a murky, muddy brown color. The light mocha head fizzled away almost immediately. The smell is a big improvement with lots of toffee, raisin, brown sugar, and fresh pecans. Unfortunately, the taste is overpoweringly sweet. The praline flavor is strong and the candied pecans and syrupy milk sugar cover the other flavors. In fact, I cannot discern any bourbon taste. The mouth feel is sticky, thick and creamy with moderate carbonation, and the sweetness hides the 12.5% ABV. Overall, De-Extinction is a bit of a misfire. It's flavorful but the cloying sweetness overwhelms its other qualities.
